Grants Available

Tuesday 22nd May 2012

Funding is available to support projects that bring environmental, social, economic benefits to the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The Sustainable Development Fund grant scheme has this year awarded grants to Compton Martin Parish Council to enhance an amenity site in the village, Bishop Sutton pre school and Forest Club for outdoor equipment, Sustrans to develop proposal for multi-user path between Cheddar and Draycott and Somerset Wildlife Trust for Wild Mendip, a family week of activities.

Priorities for funding this year are projects that demonstrate strong community support and involve volunteers. The maximum grant available is £5000 although in exceptional circumstances larger grants may be made. As the Panel wish to see a wide geographical spread of projects, applications for grants of less than £2000 are encouraged.

The next deadline for applications is 1st June 2012. The Panel will meet on 18th June to consider the applications received. Applicants will need to demonstrate match funding is being sought or secured and the project will be completed by the end of March 2013.

Further details are available on our Susatainable Development Fund page together with application forms and guidance information.
