Have a go at Orienteering – Free event to discover Black Down in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
On Saturday 21st September there is an opportunity to have a go at orienteering on Burrington Ham. There are three 2 hour sessions between 10.00am and 5.30pm to try this fun outdoor activity with an instructor.
Learn how to use a map to find your way about and discover the fascinating history of the Commons at the same time.
‘This FREE event is a fun way for people to learn how to use a map, and discover some of the history of Black Down and Burrington Commons. We hope it inspires people to come back and explore this and other areas in the Mendip Hills having learnt map reading skills”. said Stuart Bardsley Discovering Black Down Project Officer.
