The Mendip Hills and You
Consultation on the Draft Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Management Plan 2014-19 continues until 4th October 2013.
The Plan is a comprehensive summary of priorities to protect this nationally important area for future generations. Prepared by the Mendip Hills AONB Partnership the Plan when finalised will be adopted by the local authorities as required under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000
For each of the 8 themes; Landscape, Biodiversity and geodiversity, Historic environment and cultural heritage, Recreation, access and tourism, Natural resources, Land Management, Development and transport, and Participation, issues, objectives and actions are identified.

Our challenge is to ensure that the Mendip Hills retains it unique landscape and special character whilst maintaining and supporting communities’ said Cllr Dawn Hill, Mendip Hills AONB Partnership Chairman.
