Over the past few months I have taken off over the country to the Shropshire Hills, the West Highlands, Northumberland, Buckingham and Dorset, a gorgeous summer. Back to the familiar Mendips, knowing the way and if I get lost occasionally, finding my way back easily.
While at the Blackmoor Reserve I noticed the new fencing labelled “Mendip Mining Reserve” between the car park and the Priddy Road above Velvet Bottom.
A warm damp autumn, rainy mizzly days and bright clear days. The trees are still holding their colour, at Deer Leap in the middle of October the car park was busy and all the tables were in use.
There is still too much litter that has to be picked up in the car parks at Burrington Coombe.
