We still have places available for Saturday 25th January 2014 at Somerset Earth Science Centre for you to participate and explore ideas for increasing understanding and awareness of the Mendip Hills geology and the wildlife and historic landscape that it has helped shape.
A scoping report outlining a framework for research, interpretation and other activities has been circulated to a wide range of bodies including local authorities, local museums and history groups as well as individuals currently involved in research and cave exploration amongst other activities.
The one day event, hosted by Mendip Hills AONB Unit, includes short presentations on some current activities. These will be followed by a session to develop ideas further and identify potential partners and funding.
If you have an interest in the geology of the Mendip Hills, have ideas and or want to be involved in activities to increase understanding and awareness of its importance do come along.
