Planetarium brings Stargazing to Hutton

StargazingOn Friday 7 March astronomer Simon Ould will be running 3 guided stargazing sessions at Hutton Village Hall, near Weston-super-Mare as part of National Astronomy Week.

Organised by the Mendip Hills AONB Unit, each session includes a 45-minute tour of the night skies and planets inside the high tech Space Odyssey mobile planetarium. High-resolution images, animations, movies and sophisticated computer simulations are projected throughout the dome – above, behind and all around the audience. This will be followed, weather permitting, by guided stargazing outside

The 3 sessions are :

  • · 5.30pm – 6.45pm. Ideal for families with young children (minimum age 4 years old)
  • · 7.00pm – 8.15pm
  • · 8.30pm – 9.45pm

Tickets for each session cost £10.00 for adults and & £7.50 for children. All proceeds from the evening will go to the Mendip Hills Fund which supports projects that bring environmental, social and economic benefits to the Mendip Hills.

Simons Space Odyssey sessions have proved extremely popular elsewhere and we are delighted to be able to provide the opportunity for people to experience the high tech planetarium in the Mendip Hills.’
