Outstanding Volunteers Needed

The Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Unit is currently recruiting volunteers to assist with events and promotion of the area.

The AONB Unit is extremely lucky to have a very committed group of active volunteers who undertake various roles. This particular volunteer role will assist the AONB Unit in ensuring that visitors to the area get the most out of their visit. Events & Publicity Volunteers are the public face of the AONB Unit, answering questions, encouraging people to explore the area and promoting events and activities in the AONB.

In this role, volunteers will help to organise and promote an AONB events programme; offering walks, talks, family activities and representing the AONB at local shows and fairs.

At key times of year, volunteers will help by delivering AONB visitor leaflets to businesses and partners, as well as restocking Mendip Hills Fund badge boxes. This face to face interaction with local businesses is important to the AONB in keeping businesses up to date about matters of interest within the AONB.

It is therefore important that volunteers for this role have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds. You will also need to be willing to work both with a small team and by yourself.
