A walk covering three geological periods (Silurian-oldest in Somerset, Devonian and Jurassic) to enjoy the scenery, geomorphology and archaelogical features including burial mounds, central earth bank with standing stone, pre-historic quarry pits and Roman roads.
Walk will be led by Doug Robinson, local geologist and retired lecturer from Bristol University, using footpaths across ground that in places is quite rough and at times can be wet underfoot. Total ascent 60m.
Suitable for adults (amateur geologists and those with an interest in geology)
Meet at ST 63702 46113, parking area can be busy, or alternatively meet at Somerset Earth Science Centre to car share at 9.45am.
