The Mendip Hills AONB unit is funded by the five local authorities and Natural
England. The staff are based at Charterhouse Centre in the heart of the AONB. The work of the unit is guided by national AONB Core Functions.
The AONB unit consists of 3.5 permanent staff - a manager, planning liaison officer, project officer and support officer.
Volunteers, including rangers, support the AONB unit by carrying out a range of activities including surveys, litter picking and providing information.
The AONB has a monthly page in the Mendip Times and manages this web site.
